Bomb squad called to investigate suspicious package (UPDATE)

UPDATE: The Milwaukee Bomb Squad assessed the package and determined it is not dangerous. Roads have been reopened.

The Sheboygan Police Department called on the City of Milwaukee’s bomb squad to investigate a suspicious package at the Social Security Administration building in Sheboygan Tuesday morning.

At this time, a safety perimeter is being created as a precaution while the suspicious package is investigated.  Police are asking that people to avoid the area surrounding N 26th St. and Wilgus Ave. and roads have been closed while the investigation is on-going.

Wilgus Ave is closed between 25th St. and 26th St., and 26th St. is closed between Wilgus Ave and Superior Ave. 
The Sheboygan Police Department will provide updates as they become available.
